The Tale and The Telling is a project by Skyler Di Mauro, a Californian living in Milan, Italy.
She creates beautiful tailor made clothing pieces that are made to order.

Her goal is for women to feel more comfortable in themselves by offering simple and elegant pieces to their wardrobe that are easy to wear. She hopes to contribute to the slow fashion movement by encouraging people to invest in higher quality garments that they will have for longer, and not be afraid to wear over and over.

She is inspired by women’s outfits on the streets of Milan, Medieval & contemporary literature and conversations with friends.

She feels a limit she has is having too many ideas and wanting to pursue them all, rather than focusing on one at a time. To overcome this, she tries to treat her ideas as if they have an expiry date. She writes down a due date and makes sure the idea is manifested by the date, otherwise it disappears.

I reached out to Skyler to be a part of this project as I am inspired by her desire to offer an opportunity to women that is not only a solution in a world of fast fashion but is also a project that involves craftsmanship, as all pieces are made with Skyler’s hands, and I love taking the opportunity to celebrate that.
