KEYNA X ANTONIA ZAPATA VIECO
“For me, success is being able to see the good in a bad day, savouring the “unfortunate” happenings and learning from them”.
Antonia is a happy and humble creative fuelled by food and art. She explores all depths of design and is dedicated to learning as much about her country Colombia as possible. It’s culture, history and the role food plays there, as well as in society.
She has the ability to gather people around a table and open their minds and hearts, and often she does this through the business she co-founded, Hito, which honours the Colombian culture through artistic events and exhibitions.
Inspiration comes to her in many forms, from art, to books, films and people. She is endlessly inspired by learning new things and believes that in the world “there are so many alluring treasures to be explored and so much culture to be shared”.
Her limit is putting limits on herself in the first place. Naturally she is open to the world and the experiences that come with it, so when she is given a proposal it’s hard for her to find a reason to say no. But this comes with consequences, and to overcome that, she tries to evaluate which projects feel genuine and nourishing to her.
I wanted to involve Antonia in this project as I believe she has such a unique and beautiful way of going through life, and her work is one that I consider precious and too good not to share. I wanted to honour her essence and thank her for inspiring me through a piece for her.
The Keyna piece I made for Antonia is a celebration of the work she does and the invaluable moments she creates while connecting people together.
The piece is made in 925 recycled Stirling silver.
